Mark your calendars! It's that time of year when Texas shows it's true love for BOOKS. Okay it's first true love is football, followed by books. October is not only FOOTBALL season, which is huge here in Texas, it's also BOOK FESTIVAL season. With both the Texas Book Festival, and the Texas Teen Book Festival happening in the same month, there is something for every book nerd.

Texas knows how to throw a Teen Book Festival! We have the best book festivals. This year's Texas Teen Book Festival line up is AMAZING! As in you do NOT want to miss it. TEXAS TEEN BOOK FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2016 LINEUP

Young Adult Book Festival Will Feature Award-Winning Authors Sabaa Tahir, Ally Carter, Jeffery Self, and More

AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Texas Teen Book Festival announced today the 2016 lineup, featuring Sabaa Tahir, Ally Carter, Jeffery Self, Traci Chee, John Corey Whaley, and more. TTBF takes place on Saturday, October 1 at St. Edward’s University.

"Your TTBF Programming Committee has been chomping at the bit to let you in on the outstanding list of bestselling YA authors who will be attending the festival this year, but we were sworn to secrecy,” said Shawn Mauser, TTBF Festival Director. “Well, now the secret-keeping is over, and we are beyond excited to announce our full lineup, right here and right now. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 1 and start reading. TTBF 2016 is coming."

The lineup is packed with notable authors, like Renée Ahdieh, the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Wrath and the Dawn and the upcoming sequel, The Rose and the Dagger. The lineup also boasts authors of highly anticipated sequels, like Sabaa Tahir’s An Ember in the Ashes, regarded by the New York Times as “the next Game of Thrones.” 

Young adults and YA-genre enthusiasts alike will enjoy panels and sessions featuring authors with several successful novels, like Ally Carter’s Embassy Row series and Gallagher Girls series, as well as Printz Award winner John Corey Whaley (Highly Illogical BehaviorNoggin). TTBF’s lineup also showcases local, Austin-based writers, like Katherine Catmull, whose recent release, The Radiant Road, was published in January to starred reviews in Publishers Weekly and School Library Journal; as well as authors who are releasing debut, breakout novels, like popular American actor and writer Jeffery Self (Drag Teen) and Traci Chee (The Reader).

The authors will join keynote speakers Laini Taylor, author of the highly anticipated Strange the Dreamer, and Leigh Bardugo, author of the #1New York Times Best Seller and USA Today Best Seller Six of Crows. TTBF will feature all-star author sessions and panels, book signings, workshops, and vendor displays perfect for young adult genre fans of all ages.

TTBF is presented in collaboration with the Texas Book Festival, BookPeople, a dedicated team of librarians, and venue sponsor St. Edward’s University. The program is made possible in part by a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The one-day TTBF will take place on October 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at St. Edward’s University, 3001 South Congress Avenue. TTBF remains free and open to the public thanks to generous donors, sponsors, and dozens of committed volunteers.
