FAVORITE 2016 DEBUT AUTHORS #TopTenof2016

It's that time of year where we share our favorite reads of the year. I swear each year it gets harder and harder to narrow these lists down. One of our favorite lists is our debut author lists. We LOVE our debut authors. This year proved once again that debut authors have a serious talent for writing and story-telling. Some of these newcomers to the YA book scene have definitely made their mark. I think it's safe to say that each of these books grace our 'favorites' shelves.

Here are our favorite debut authors of 2016:
  1. Blackhearts by Nichole Castroman
  2. The Crown's Games by Evelyn Skye
  3. Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
  4. The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
  5. The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig
  6. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
These books are definitely worth picking up! I can not wait to read their sequels.

10th Anniversary Edition: THIRTEEN REASONS WHY by Jay Asher / Book Blitz / Giveaway

Today I'm thrilled to team up with Penguin Random House to celebrate the 10th Anniversary! It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since Jay Asher's Thirteen Reasons Why was first released. Below you'll find out what this special edition includes, and be sure to enter the giveaway at the end of this post.

Since it's release, Thirteen Reasons Why has been a voice for the countless of unheard voices who have dwelt with bullying. It's a story that makes you realize that the things we say, and do, no matter how insignificant we think it is, will/can have a lasting impact on a person. Good or bad. This is also a story that proves that sometimes it takes just one person to speak up and do something. This story is a thought provoking read with a powerful message, and one each of us here on Mundie Moms recommends. You can check out my 4.5 review for it, here

ABOUT THE BOOK

You can't stop the future. You can't rewind the past. The only way to learn the secret . . . is to press play.
Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker--his classmate and crush--who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah's voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why.

Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah's pain, and as he follows Hannah's recorded words throughout his town, what he discovers changes his life forever.
