Oblivion by Jennifer L. Armentrout / Cover Reveal

Welcome to the next stop in the OBLIVION cover reveal puzzle piece tour. Who's ready for the next cover puzzle piece? I definitely am. Unfortnately I don't Damon Black himself on the blog, at least this time, but I do have this piece of the cover.....

ABOUT OBLIVION

Experience the epic love story of OBSIDIAN as told by its hero, Daemon Black…

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen...

Cassandra Clare Treats Fans To a TDA Snippet

Yesterday Cassandra Clare treated fans to a TDA snippet on Tumblr.
In honor of me being on tour and in Seattle tonight ready to talk Lady Midnight…
“It isn’t easy, having the Sight, if you’re a mundane,” Julian said in a low voice. “You see things nobody else sees. You can’t talk about it because no one will understand. You have to keep secrets, and secrets — they break you apart. Cut you open. Make you vulnerable.”
The low timbre of his voice shuddered down through Emma’s bones. There was something in it that frightened her. Something that reminded her of Mark’s eyes, distant and lonely.
“Jules,” she said, surprised. He was hardly a mundane with the Sight, and as far as she knew, he didn’t know anyone who was.
Muttering something like “never mind,” he spun her away, then pulled her back toward him. Years of practicing fighting together made them an almost perfect dancing team, she realized with surprise. They could predict each other’s movements, glide with each other’s bodies. She could tell which way Julian would step by the cadence of his breath and the faint tightening of his fingers around hers.
Julian’s dark curls were wildly tousled; when he drew her near him, she could smell the clove spice of his cologne, the faint scent of paint underneath.
The song ended. Emma looked up and over at the band; the clarinetist with the red hair was watching her and Julian. Unexpectedly, he winked. The band struck up again, this time a slower, softer number. Couples moved together as if magnetized, arms wrapping around necks, hands resting on hips, heads leaning together.

These snippets are only making it that much harder to wait for this book to be out. I also have zero patience when it comes to waiting on a book release. haha.
Who's seeing Cassie Clare and Holly Black on tour? Sophie will be there this Friday when Cassie and Holly stop by Keplers! Be sure to stop by and say hi!

Instead, she must battle a trio of enemies—human and spectral—who may or may not have joined forces against her. All while pretending to be over Cooper Beaumont, her ex-boyfriend and true love, to shield him from her arch-nemesis’s revenge.

Worse, when the fight escalates, Emma is tempted to use the black magic she’s always fought against, endangering her own soul. As her enemies close in, join forces, and fight with new and dark magic she’s never seen before, Emma must finally harness the power within her to fulfill an ancient prophecy, defeat a centuries-old evil, save her family, and reclaim the only boy she’s ever loved.

I'm excited about today's Waiting on Wednesday post, as I'm doing something new today. Along with my spotlight of Lea's upcoming release, Lea herself has stopped by Mundie Moms to share an exclusive sneak peak of Illusion! That is not all, there's also a giveaway! WELCOME LEA!

AUTHOR GUEST POST

Thanks so much for having me Katie, I’m thrilled to be here at Mundie Moms to introduce you to Illusion, the third and final book in my Hoodoo Apprentice trilogy. I’m especially excited to reveal its gorgeous cover, as well as the beautiful new covers for the other books in the series, Conjure and Allure.

I’ve got a special exclusive Illusion teaser excerpt just for Mundie Moms readers:

Cooper peers into the rearview mirror. “What the heck?”
“What?” I look up from the spell book.
“I think Taneea’s behind us.”
I spin around and squint through the rear window. My worst enemy’s big pickup is in the distance, and it’s gaining ground fast. As it nears, the obnoxious pink paint almost glows.
“Holy crap, she must have her foot on the floor. Can you go any faster?” I glance at the speedometer, which is already well past the speed limit.
“I’ll see what I can do.” He steps on the gas, and the car zooms forward.
Taneea pursues, closing in on us. From the front seat, I see her grin as the truck’s front grille smacks our back bumper.
Cooper clutches the shaking wheel, straining to keep on course as he jams on the pedal and barrels ahead. Taneea gives chase, bashes the bumper again before swerving into the left lane, then pulling up next to us.
We race down the road in tandem, her cotton candy–pink truck dwarfing our beige station wagon.
“Slam on the brakes and let her go ahead of us!” I yell.
“Good idea,” Cooper says, but he doesn’t get the chance.
Taneea slams the truck into our driver’s side. Metal grinds against metal as the vehicles collide. Cooper keeps his eyes straight ahead as he yanks the wheel in the opposite direction, fighting to stay on the road. But Taneea’s going too fast, and her monster truck is too big. The pickup bangs into us again, thrusting us onto the shoulder. I look out the window and scream. A ditch, at least three feet deep, lies between the asphalt and the low-lying marshland beyond.
“Emma, I don’t think I can—”
The pickup’s engine roars. Metal crunches, and tires screech. The station wagon launches into the air.
