Ten 2014 Releases I Meant To Read Last Year, But Didn't Get To; Top Ten Tuesday #16

This weekly meme is hosted by The Broke & the Bookish

Hello & welcome to this week's post. Last week's topic was my Top 10 Most Anticipated 2015 Debuts. This week's topic is Top 10 2014 Releases I Meant To Read, But Didn't Get To.  I'm a day late on posting this. I started substitute teaching recently, and didn't get a chance to get this posted before I worked yesterday. It kills me to write this post, because there are so many titles from last year that I meant to read, but did not have time to read.

I pre-ordered/purchased most every book on this list, because I couldn't wait to read them. Yet, here I am, adding them to the list of 2014 releases I didn't read. I really wish I could blame life and say it got in the way of my reading last year. These books now sit on a pile I call my, I can't buy any new books until these books are read. I am really looking forward to reading to these books in the coming weeks and featuring them here on Mundie Moms. I'll admit, it would be boring if every book feature was for a new release, because there are a ton of great books that have been out, like the list I'm about to share with you.

I have failed a Cassie Clare/Shadowhunter fan, as this is my #1 book from last year I still have not read, though I have started it. This book got lost in the mail, was resent, and arrived after much later than I had hoped. Before I had a chance to even read the book, the ending was spoiled for me.... so I put the book aside. You know it's awesome when a series you love is ending, and someone "kindly" tells you how it all ends. I WILL READ THIS BOOK before this month is over!

I don't even know why I've not read this one yet. I head such great things about it.

I loved Scarlet, and couldn't wait to read this one. With book three in this series coming out soon, I will definitely be reading this one before it's release.

This is another contemp everyone raved about, and I purchased it, excited to read it. I will be reading this one soon.

This gets filed under the "if I don't read this book, then the series isn't over" category.

I love this series, and yet, I still have yet to read this book. Don't even ask me why, because I don't have an answer for that.

This was another pre-order I was looking forward to reading, and yet it still has not been read.

This is another book everyone raved about, so I picked up in hopes of reading it that same week, and didn't get the chance to.

This one looks like a great read. I just didn't have the chance to read it yet.

I heart Katie's books. I got this one during a crazy time of the year. I started it, but life happened, and now I'm going to re-start it and read it.

I'm hoping I'm not the only one who still has a huge 2014 TBR pile. I'd love to know, which 2014 releases are you still waiting to read?

A teen escapes to a boarding school abroad and falls for a Korean pop star in this fun and fresh romantic novel in the vein of Anna and the French Kiss.

Grace Wilde is running—from the multi-million dollar mansion her record producer father bought, the famous older brother who’s topped the country music charts five years in a row, and the mother who blames her for her brother’s breakdown. Grace escapes to the farthest place from home she can think of, a boarding school in Korea, hoping for a fresh start.

She wants nothing to do with music, but when her roommate Sophie’s twin brother Jason turns out to be the newest Korean pop music superstar, Grace is thrust back into the world of fame. She can't stand Jason, whose celebrity status is only outmatched by his oversized ego, but they form a tenuous alliance for the sake of her friendship with Sophie. As the months go by and Grace adjusts to her new life in Korea, even she can't deny the sparks flying between her and the KPOP idol.

Soon, Grace realizes that her feelings for Jason threaten her promise to herself that she'll leave behind the music industry that destroyed her family. But can Grace ignore her attraction to Jason and her undeniable pull of the music she was born to write? Sweet, fun, and romantic, this young adult novel explores what it means to experience first love and discover who you really are in the process.

I am so ridiculously excited over this book's up coming release. I am incredibly happy for my friend Katie. Her DEBUT BOOK is being released this year!! This is one contemporary book I can not wait to read. It sounds like it's going to be one of those books that sweeps you off your feet, and leaves you with grin on your face after you finish reading it. Can I also mention how much I like this cover. If you're looking to support debut authors this year, don't miss adding Katie's book to your lists!
