EW has reported that they'll be revealing each of the covers prior to each e-novella's release. About the series, Cassandra Clare is reported to have said,
“Wrapping up the Mortal Instruments series was a hugely emotional time for me. It was so hard to let the characters go, but I felt I’d left them in good places. All except Simon—his ending was unconventional and open for more story. I knew I wanted him to go through the training process to become a Shadowhunter, something we haven’t really seen,” Clare told EW in an exclusive statement. “But there wasn’t room for that in The Dark Artifices, the next books, because it’s a book of its own. I wound up discussing it with Maureen and Sarah, and we really missed doing The Bane Chronicles together and thought this would be a perfect second project for us since we all love Simon. Maureen actually loves him the most. We brought our friend Robin Wasserman on board as well since she’s such an amazing writer. The stories will follow Simon, but also flip back and forth in time so you can expect to see Jace and Clary, Will and Jem, Tessa, and Emma—characters old and new!”

TALON by Julie Kagawa; Blog Tour: Meet Dante, Catch The Dragon & Enter To Win!

Welcome to the next stop in the TALON blog tour!
I'm so thrilled to introduce you to Dante. After you get to know Dante a little bit better, be sure to read the rest of the post and catch the Dragon. When you catch him, don't forget to enter to win.

* Hi Dante! Thank you for being here today. For those you who haven't yet met the dragons of Talon, can you please tell us a little bit about them?

Of course.  Although, technically, I'm not really supposed to.  Humans aren't supposed to know we exist, but since you asked, I'll make an exception this once.  Talon is a very structured, secret society of dragons.  We hide in human form to avoid detection from the Order of St. George, who would slaughter every single one of us if they could.  Talon's goal is the self-preservation of our species, and protecting all dragons from the Order and extinction.  And I think that's all I should say right now.  Really, I could get in trouble for saying that much.

* What is one of the things you love about being dragon?

Well, if I'm ever stranded on a desert island, I won't have to worry about starting a fire. Or getting off the island, really. Wings definitely come in handy for certain situations.

* What do you enjoy doing in human form, that you may not be able to do as a dragon?

It's really difficult to use a phone in dragon form.  Claws were not meant for texting.

* Since many of our readers haven't yet had the chance to "meet" you, how would you describe yourself? Are you into sports, reading, cooking? If you say yes to all three of those your sister may have to put a good fight for the mob of girls who will be chasing after you.

Ha, good luck to them.  I wouldn't want to pick a fight with Ember.  I guess I'm a pretty average guy; I do enjoy reading, and some sports, and I've taken cooking classes so I know the basics.  I'm always trying to learn new skills; whatever will prepare me for my future with Talon.

* How would you describe your relationship with your sister, Ember? What's something you admire about her?

Ember and I are....very different.  Which is odd, I know, considering we're practically twins, but that's the truth.  My sister is impulsive, reckless, and has a teensy problem with authority, but she's always looked out for me, and vice versa.  I just hope I can keep her safe and out of trouble until Talon is ready for us.

* First word that comes to mind when you hear the name, Garret Xavier Sebastian?

That's the new boy Ember hangs around with, right?  I guess he's tolerable, for a human.  Although...there is something about him that I don't like, something I can't put my finger on.  All I can say is, he'd better not hurt my sister, or he'll have to deal with a very pissed off dragon twin.

* Both you and Ember have a lot going on, and a lot at stake. If you had a day to just be a "human" teenager and not worry about Talon, both your & Ember's future, and the Order of St. George, what is something you would want to do?

If I had a whole day to myself?  I don't know, I haven't really thought about it.  I guess...maybe I'd take a road trip with a few of my friends.  No thought, no planning, just pick a direction, any direction, and drive.  See what's out there.  It'll never happen--Talon would think it's too dangerous--but it sounds like it could be fun.

* What kind of preparation goes into preparing for becoming a member of Talon and the responsibilities that come with it?

Right now, mostly just learning how to be human, how to interact and react in a normal human environment.  After the summer, our real education begins where, if we pass assimilation, we become full members of the organization.  Until then, we just have to keep following the rules and doing what Talon tells us.

* Can you tell us a little bit about what Julie Kagawa has planned for you and Ember next? We promise we won't tell her you told us anything. ;)

Um, no.  Sorry, but she can be even scarier than Talon.  And honestly, I'm not that certain, myself.  (Though I won't lie and say I'm not a little terrified of what she has in store for us next.)

Haha, yes I can see how Julie could be scarier than Talon. Thank you for stopping by today Dante.
Thanks for talking with me. -Dante

About Talon

Add it to: Goodreads

Long ago, dragons were hunted to near extinction by the Order of St. George, a legendary society of dragon slayers. Hiding in human form and growing their numbers in secret, the dragons of Talon have become strong and cunning, and they're positioned to take over the world with humans none the wiser.
Ember and Dante Hill are the only sister and brother known to dragonkind. Trained to infiltrate society, Ember wants to live the teen experience and enjoy a summer of freedom before taking her destined place in Talon. But destiny is a matter of perspective, and a rogue dragon will soon challenge everything Ember has been taught. As Ember struggles to accept her future, she and her brother are hunted by the Order of St. George.
Soldier Garret Xavier Sebastian has a mission to seek and destroy all dragons, and Talon's newest recruits in particular. But he cannot kill unless he is certain he has found his prey: and nothing is certain about Ember Hill. Faced with Ember's bravery, confidence and all-too-human desires, Garret begins to question everything that the Order has ingrained in him: and what he might be willing to give up to find the truth about dragons.

About Julie Kagawa:

Julie Kagawa was born in Sacramento, California. But nothing exciting really happened to her there. So, at the age of nine she and her family moved to Hawaii, which she soon discovered was inhabited by large carnivorous insects, colonies of house geckos and frequent hurricanes. She spent much of her time in the ocean, when she wasn’t getting chased out of it by reef sharks, jellyfish and the odd eel.
To pay the rent, Julie worked in different bookstores over the years, but discovered the managers frowned upon her reading the books she was supposed to be shelving. So she turned to her other passion: training animals. She worked as a professional dog trainer for several years, dodging Chihuahua bites and overly enthusiastic Labradors, until her first book sold and she stopped training to write full-time.
Julie now lives in Louisville, Kentucky, where the frequency of shark attacks are at an all-time low. She lives with her husband, two obnoxious cats, one Australian shepherd who is too smart for his own good and the latest addition, a hyperactive Papillon puppy.
