Tahereh Mafi & Ransom Riggs Recap Their Amazing 2013

Two of my most favorite people in the writing world (well over all world) Tahereh Mafi and Ransom Riggs made this seriously AWESOME video recapping their amazing year last year.

All I can say to their 2013 is WOW! Also, I swear if you looked up soul mates in a dictionary, you'd see a picture of these two there. Yes, I just said that.

Our Most Anticipated Books of 2014

Happy New Year!

I swear every new year seems to out do the following year in terms of new book releases. This year Sophie & I are extremely excited about many of this year's upcoming releases. I frantically tried to get my reading pile from 2013 caught up so I'd go into the year with only 2014 books to read, but sadly my '13 pile is still huge. lol Like 2013, 2014 promises a TON of hot new YA releases, as well as MK and NA ones, all of which will be featured on all three of our blogs.

While it was hard to do, Sophie & I attempted to narrow our most anticipated lists down. Here are a few of "gotta have these books in our hands now" list:

We think it's safe to assume that the NUMBER ONE most anticipated book in Mundie Mom Land is -- City of Heavenly Fire. We will finally, finally get to see how that fiery inferno of a plot will end. And yes, WHO WILL SURVIVE?!?! Not that we're anxious or anything about it. Not us. Not at all. We are as calm as Jace would be in a similar situation. And that's a whole lotta calm as you all know.

Here are a few books we can't wait to pick up in 2014:

Katie's Most Anticipated Books of 2014:

My TBR list for 2014 is already over flowing and the new year hasn't even started yet. There are a ton of fabulous books coming out this next year. Here are 14 books I can't to get my hands on, well 15 since I'm having a hard time narrowing my huge list down:

One of those being City of Heavenly Fire. Gah, I have a feeling this book is going to be the death of me. Leigh Bardugo's Ruin and Rising is one of those MUST HAVE books! What she did in Siege and Storm was FABULOUS. Also fabulous, Tahereh Mafi! I need IGNITE ME in my hands already!! Dreams of Gods & Monsters is a book I feel like I've been waiting for, forever now. Laini Taylor has written a fabulous series, and I'm dying to find out what happens next.

You can never go wrong with a well written fairy tale retelling. Marissa Meyer's CRESS is definitely one of those books I'll be devouring this year. Also on the devouring list,  one of my favorite authors, Jennifer L. Armentrout has a new YA coming out in a few short weeks, WHITE HOT KISS! I'm pretty sure this book will definitely be HOT!

I am so thrilled two authors whom I absolutely love have books coming out this year! Stephanie Perkins's Isla and the Happily Ever After, which I've been "patiently" waiting for, and Leah Cypess's Death Sworn! *dances around happily* Sophie Jordan's UNINVITED. You can never go wrong with a Sophie Jordan book. Veronica Rossi's INTO THE STILL BLUE is one book I'm both excited to read, and saddened to read, as it's the end of this fabulous series. Amy Plum has a new book coming out! AFER THE END!!

I'm eager to pick up my friend, Victoria Scott's FIRE & BLOOD! I've heard nothing but great things about this book. Also on the list of books I can't wait to read is Tracy Clark's Scintillate. This book sounds like it's going to be all sorts of awesome, as does Lanie Bross's FATES. I love Jennifer E Smith's books. I can't wait to read her new one coming out, The Geography of You & Me.

These are just a few of the books I can't wait to pick up in 2014. What are some of your most anticipated 2014 books?

Sophie's Most Anticipated Books of 2014:

I'm very excited about Tracy Clark's Scinitllate (a metaphysical mystery!!) and of course, as a huge fan of Stephanie Perkins, I am dying to read Isla and the Happily Every After. The Iron Trial (Magisterium #1) by Cassie and Holly is hugely anticipated because it's a book that I'm hoping to share with my tween daughter (because we loved Holly Black's Doll Bones and hope to have the same level of excitement in reading this together).

Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi and Cress by Marissa Meyer are two series that I 5-starred from the first chapters in their first books. Two contemporaries by authors whose previous books I loved, Claire LaZebnick's Last Best Kiss and Huntley Fitzpatrick's What I Thought Was True, look like the very best of beach reads.

I had to add a little New Adult into the mix with Lisa Desrochers third book in the A Little Too Far series, A Little Too Hot (the first two were, whoa, very, very caliente and contained one of my favorite NA characters, Alessandro…go on and read about him, Mundie Mamas!). And then to round off my top ten, I chose Fan Art by Sarah Tregay and To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han.

Happy New Year: The City of Heavenly Fire Page Count Will Be.......

Cassandra Clare is ringing in the new year by sharing the City of Heavenly Fire page count with fans! She posted on tumblr that the page count will be....... 733 pages!!! *falls over with happiness* That means 733 pages full of Shadowhunter emotions!
