From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other

A sizzling romance! Be warned, once you pick up this book you won't put it down until you finish it. You will be sleep deprived, but you'll have a big ole' grin on your face after you read Isaiah and Rachel's story. This book is hot, fast paced, has plenty of hot character chemistry, a few fast cars, and plenty of trouble. I love this book's dual point of views.

Oh Isaiah! What is there not to love about this character. I love it when an author can make me fall in love with a character who comes across as a tough, fierce, someone you wouldn't want to mess with character. Isaiah is all this and then some. It's that then some that I loved finding out. Isaiah also has this fiercely loyal side. He's vulnerable in a way I hadn't excepted him to be, and that vulnerability makes him put on this hardcore shell, which I don't blame him for having. It's not like he's had an easy life. Abondoned by his mom, whom also has her own set of problems, Isaiah has grown up in the foster care system. Not only is he close to aging out, Isaiah does his best to stay out of trouble, but somehow trouble always finds him.

Rachel is trouble in a way Isaiah wasn't excepting. These two characters couldn't seem more opposite. Isaiah comes from the other side of the tracks so to speak, while Rachel comes from wealth and privilege. She's a private school student, who comes across as the good girl type who wouldn't ever do anything that would disappoint her parents. Rachel has her own secrets, and a home life that is far from normal.  Like Isaiah, looks on the outside are definitely not what you get when you get to know Rachel. Isaiah and Rachel have more in common that you'd think. While Isaiah comes across on living life on the edge, Rachel is a sweet, wholesome girl who's love of cars and street racing brings her into Isaiah's life.

Katie does a great job at tackling stereotypes in both Isaiah and Rachel's story. I love that she didn't shy away from issues, but instead hit them head on this both of their stories. It made these characters and this book feel realistic. It's one of the things I love about Katie's writing. It's gritty, real, and fabulous in the sense that her writing to me is flawless. I love how Katie emotionally attaches me to her characters.  She invests me with her story, and strings me along the emotional ups and downs of her character's stories. She hooks me. She turns me into her character's biggest cheerleader and makes me want to know what's going to happen next. She does such a fabulous job at writing these heartbreaking situations and gives them a gritty, realistic feel. She also counters the heartbreak with sigh worthy and heart warming situations as well.

The romance in this story is on fire! Isaiah and Rachel's chemistry in seriously sizzling. I loved how caught off guard Isaiah is by what Rachel makes him feel, and visa versa. These two couldn't be a more perfect couple. That's not to say they don't have a few issues that have to be resolved, but their relationship was one that I simply adored. Or, well, became addicted to. I seriously LOVED how Isaiah wanted nothing more than to take care of Rachel. There's something so sweet and sexy about seeing a "bad boy" want to protect his girl. Of course Isaiah isn't the bad boy in this book, but there definitely is one. Rachel herself can handle a lot of things. She does have older brothers and while at times they are extremely overbearing, I loved how protective they were of her, and how they react to her relationship with Isaiah. One of the last scenes in the book with Isaiah and Rachel about made me cry. It says a lot about their relationship...when you read it you'll know what I'm talking about. These two have become a favorite couple of mine.

One of the things that Katie does an excellent job at in Isaiah's story, is tackling what happens to teens who age out of the foster care system. One of the things that hooked me with this series is Katie's characters. They are characters who have had a sucky hand at life, but yet they're strong and resilient in their own ways. They're characters I instantly cheer for and want to see exceed. Sure they make some bad decisions, but over all these kids are tough, and extremely independent. They have to be, given they've lived hard lives, and deal with the foster care system. I've not read many YA books that tackle the foster care system.

This is a book I seriously loved! As I mentioned above it is gritty, realistic read. There is language, mentions of violence, sex and drugs. It may not be suitable for younger readers.
