The Bane Chronicles: What Really Happened In Peru eBook #1 is OUT!

Today is the day we found out what REALLY happened in Peru! I am so excited about this ebook's release!

Fans of The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices know that Magnus Bane is banned from Peru . . . and now they can find out why.

There are good reasons Peru is off-limits to Magnus Bane. Follow Magnus's Peruvian escapades as he drags his fellow warlocks Ragnor Fell and Catarina Loss into trouble, learns several instruments (which he plays shockingly), dances (which he does shockingly), and disgraces his host nation by doing something unspeakable to the Nazca Lines.

Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson have collaborated on a 10 ebook series all told from Magnus's point of view. The Bane Chronicles will have an ebook released each month between now and 12/31/13. Check out all the info HERE.

Here's what Sarah Rees Brennan had to say about today's release on her blog:

So, as you may or may not know, the first instalment of the Bane Chronicles is coming out on Tuesday! What Really Happened In Peru by Cassie and I, featuring cranky warlock roadtrips, the magic of song, and piracy.
Maureen, Cassie and I got started on writing the Bane Chronicles through chatting to each other, and we thought it might be fun to have a chat about the Bane Chronicles after the release of each story.
So… you want to talk to me, Cassie and Maureen on Thursday at 6 PM EDT? We are around, my lovelies, and here is the link to where we will be:
Hope to see you there!
I wonder if Magnus will be there to. To those asking about a hardcopy/paperback version of the book, because who doesn't want to have Magnus in their hands, YES, next year a physical book will be released, which I can not wait to see! In the mean time, go HERE to get your copy of The Bane Chronicles, What Really Happened in Peru!

It's Here! Check out the New Catching Fire Trailer

I realize I'm a little late in posting this, but check out this movie trailer!

Aside from The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, The Hunger Games is the only other YA book to movie adaptation that I have seen that is as spot on as you can get with the transition of bring it from the pages of a book to the big screen. I can't wait to see this movie in November! Not that I've seen Catching Fire, because I haven't. I just meant the adaptation of the Hunger Games series as a whole to the big screen.

Twitter Tuesday - Carrie Jones and the Boston Marathon

I grew up in the Boston area and went to high school there. I consider it my hometown. Watching the events unfold yesterday brought back an emotion that was stronger than I ever expected. I was on twitter and facebook checking up on my friends who marched with the Minutemen that day and my friends that I thought may be running in the marathon. For those of you who don't know, Patriot's Day in Boston is a Big Deal. It's a celebration. Schools and business take the day off. It's Springtime and the weather usually cooperates so everyone tends to be outside after a long winter.

While I was on twitter, I came across Carrie Jones (author of the Need series) post. She was there and she wrote such a moving post that I want to share it with you guys here. This is the beginning of it and you can read the rest on her blog.
So, I was at the Boston Marathon today to take pictures of my friend, Lori, running and then crossing the finish line. Before the marathon I had lunch with my daughter Em. She was nervous.

“I have a bad feeling,” she said. “You need to be careful.”
“You have no faith in me. I am a perfectly capable person.”
“I just am worried.”
“I will be fine,” I told her.

But I did several things that I don’t normally do. I didn’t take the T. I chose to walk from Cambridge to mile 25.5 of the race route. I figured out the T route and everything, but I just didn’t want to go on it. Walking was healthier, I figured. I was going to watch a marathon. Healthy seemed a good idea.
I know that Boston will come back from this and I know that the marathon tradition will continue from year to year. I'm touched by the response of so many people wanting to help and the outpouring of love for everyone who was hurt or lost loved ones. If you'd like to help, the Red Cross is always a good place to start.

In the mean time, let's be patient with one another and remember to be kind. Everyone processes these tragedies in their own way.
