Mundie Moms Best of 2012: Favorite Covers

It's Christmas! I hope you are all enjoying spending time with your family and friends this holiday season. We're continuing on with our Mundie Moms Best of 2012. Today's feature is our top ten favorite covers. Sophie and I both picked our top 5 favorites, which again, making this list was  hard to do as there were a lot of fabulous covers this year. Here are some of our favorites.

Katie's Favorites:

Defiance by C.J. Redwine: I LOVE this cover! The woods, a butt kicking protagonist, and I love the castle you can see under her cape. This screams cover love!

Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo: I LOVE this cover. Whom ever created this cover did a brilliant job of making the cover really stand out, as well as adding in some important detail that goes along with the story itself.

Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan: I actually love both the front and back side of this cover. If you have the book and haven't done so yet, pull the cover off and lay it out so you can see the front and backside together. Love it!

Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill: The combination of the London skyline, the colors and the couple on the front of this book make it catchy. If I were to pick up a book based on the cover alone I'd have totally picked this one up. This cover is a perfect fit for this read!

Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen: This is another favorite cover of mine. I'm normally not a fan of seeing faces on book covers, but I love seeing Scarlet's face on here. I also love the ivy, and her wielding her knife. This cover is a perfect match for this story.

Sophie's favorites:

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare: Look at the embrace. 'Nuff said.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer: That iconic shoe- in my favorite color! Plus the gears. The image hints of an interesting setting.

Black Heart by Holly Black: Usually when a series covers are changed for the last book's release, I get all bookwormy-mad. But this cover is perfect. Just perfect.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi: I knew from the cover that the girl was strong and the world was violent. That alone made me want to read it.

Hallowed by Cynthia Hand: I loved the way the cover was printed. The matted, muted colors that hinted of a a more somber story than Unearthly's silvery lilac tones.

What are some of your favorite covers from 2012?
