Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Release Date: February 12, 2012
Purchase from: amazon | Indie Bound | Barnes and Noble

Synopsis: With more than a million Gallagher Girls books sold, a legion of fans have fallen in love with the New York Times best-selling spy-girl series, and the fifth book delivers the most nerve-wracking, high-stakes adventure yet.

The last thing Cammie Morgan remembers is leaving the Gallagher Academy to protect her friends and family from the Circle of Cavan—an ancient terrorist organization that has been hunting her for over a year. But when Cammie wakes up in an alpine convent and discovers that months have passed, she must face the fact that her memory is now a black hole. The only traces left of Cammie’s summer vacation are the bruises on her body and the dirt under her nails, and all she wants is to go home.

Once she returns to school, however, Cammie realizes that even the Gallagher Academy now holds more questions than answers. Cammie, her friends, and mysterious spy-guy Zach must face their most difficult challenge yet as they travel to the other side of the world, hoping to piece together the clues that Cammie left behind. It’s a race against time. The Circle is hot on their trail and willing stop at nothing to prevent Cammie from remembering what she did last summer.

Sophie and I might have a slight obsession with Ally Carter's writing. We're huge fans of Kat & Hale, and equally as huge fans of Cammie and Zach. Although Sophie claims Zach might beat out Hale in her book. *gasp* I know..... No one can touch Hale. That's beside the point. Well except for Jace, Will and Jem, but that's a topic for a different post. We adore Ally's writing! Being moms, we love that she writes books that not only us mamas can read and enjoy, but so do our daughters. Sophie's daughters do, mine is a little to young, but I think she'll love this series when she's old enough to read them.

Ally creates these fabulous characters who make us laugh, smile, love, sigh, and in some cases they can make us heartbroken. Case in point with this story and what happens. Ally's books also have these fabulous romances. With Ally it's all about those stolen glances, those moments where you want to shove the characters together and tell them to kiss already (it's okay I'm a mom and I approve), and then there's these moments that just melt our hearts. If you've not yet picked up a Ally Carter book, you must do so now! Out of Sight Out of Mind is fabulous addition to the Gallagher Series. It's definitely worth picking up!

Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It's one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she's queen of following rules and being prepared. That's why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that's also why she's chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB ("meant to be").

But this spring break, Julia's rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she's partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be quoted from Goodreads

This is the year I really feel in love with contemporaries. I read a few last year, and really enjoyed them, but this year there are some that just struck a chord with me, and I fell in love with them. This book is one of them. Lauren's debut is fabulous! Meant To Be for me is one of those fun, refreshing romantic comedies that made me wish I could go hop on a plane bound for London. Not only was this setting fabulous and perfectly fitting for what takes place in this book, I don't think another setting would have been more perfect for Julia and Jason's story. The love story in this book is so sweet, and so perfectly written. I laughed, I cried, I sighed, and enjoyed every moment I spent reading this book. It's like a light contemporary light bulb went off and I finally figured out why Sophie has been trying to get me to read more of these books. If they're written like this book is, I'll be reading a lot more of them. If you're looking for that perfect book to cuddle up with on a cold winter's day, go get this one!! Flashback Friday - Decked with Holly

Written by: Marni Bates
Publisher: Kensington Publishing Corporation
Release Date: 9/25/2012
Source: Purchased
Buy: Indie Bound | Barnes and Noble | amazon
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Loved it!

Synopsis: Holly Dayton is about to go way out of her comfort zone. . . Spending Christmas vacation on a cruise with her two cousins from hell isn't Holly's idea of a good time. And when in a moment of seasick-fueled desperation she lurches into an open suite--she's greeted with an eyeful of pepper spray. The culprit? A gorgeous guy calling himself Nick. But when Holly goes to make her exit, she gets the shock of her life: a corridor crammed with screaming teenage fans. Because Nick just happens to be Dominic Wyatt, drummer for ReadySet--one of the hottest bands in America.

Suddenly rumors are swirling, and Holly's face is captured on countless phones and plastered all over the Internet. But the band can't risk a scandal destroying their family-friendly image, so Dominic convinces Holly to be his fake girlfriend--just for two weeks. How bad could it be to be fauxmantically involved with one of the cutest rockstars on the planet? Holly's about to find out. . .

Marni Bates wrote an adorable holiday story. I kept laughing when I was reading it and still the word "zombie!" may cause me to break out in a fit of giggles. Holly is quite the Cinderella-with-a-twist. The twist being that she's confident, funny and snarky.

When she discovers herself seasick in the cabin-suite of one of the hottest rock stars of the moment, she thinks on her wobbly feet and the banter between them is so deliciously crisp that I, well, I loved it. The fauxromance arrangement ups the tension in the book until you just want to see WHAT HAPPENS. Sorry for the shouty caps, I just had to know, and trust me you will, too.

In your holiday rush, take a moment and pick up Decked with Holly, I know you'll enjoy the sweet Christmas-y romance as much as I did. Now I have to read Awkward and I'm looking forward to the non-spinoff sequel, Invisible.
