Can their love stand the test of time?

Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett’s unique ability to travel through time and space brings him into Anna’s life, and with him, a new world of adventure and possibility.

As their relationship deepens, they face the reality that time might knock Bennett back where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate—and what consequences they can bear in order to stay together. - quoted from the author's website

Tamara Ireland Stone has created a truly unique story with Time Between Us. There's something enticing about having this ability to travel through time, whether it's in the future or being able to go back into the past. I loved the way Tamara's time travel concept was developed and explained through out the story. Not everything was dumped on me at once, much like it wasn't revealed to Anna all at once. I enjoyed getting to understand more and more of Bennett's ability as the story unravels. It felt believable to me, and I liked there were consequences for defying something that seems utterly impossible to do. Along with the time traveling is this fabulous romance. I loved how these two elements blended together, which gave the book a contemporary type feel to it.

Let's talk about romance. Beyond the few swoon worth scenes is the romantic undertone Anna and Bennett's relationship gives the story. This book has what you'd think is a sweet and simple romance, yet it's complex and can be heart breaking, but it's just so beautiful and well developed, it hooked me. I couldn't stop reading it. What Anna and Bennett have is a slow burning romance, that at times felt fast paced. That might have had to do with fact that this story is constantly in motion, and because of that the entire storyline just flowed. The romantic side of me loved that despite Anna is in 1995 and Bennett is from 2012, they meet, and so begins their truly unique and incredibly love story. There's something sweet, and innocent about Anna and Bennett's being together, and yet it's also heartbreaking, new, exciting, and a little worrisome. I liked that both of these characters thought for themselves, enjoyed each moment they had together, and tried to do whatever they could to understand one another. Given Bennett's predicament I loved how they savored each moment together, well for the most part.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It's a contemporary, yet there's a little something else to it, that gives it a different feel. It's one of those lovely surprises that I found myself having a hard time putting the book, and in fact I read the book in one sitting, I enjoyed it so much. If you're a fan of those slow burning, well developed romances that keep you invested the entire time you're reading the story, then you need to pick up this book. If you're a fan of well crafted time travel books, then this one is for you. Really if you enjoy a well written, finely crafted YA read then you definitely need to go pick up Time Between Us. This is one debut I enjoyed reading, and I'm looking forward to reading more of Tamara's books.

Waiting on Wednesday: Invisibility by Andrea Cremer & David Levithan

Published by: Philomel / Penguin
To Be Released on: May 7th, 2013

Stephen has been invisible for practically his whole life — because of a curse his grandfather, a powerful cursecaster, bestowed on Stephen’s mother before Stephen was born. So when Elizabeth moves to Stephen’s NYC apartment building from Minnesota, no one is more surprised than he is that she can see him. A budding romance ensues, and when Stephen confides in Elizabeth about his predicament, the two of them decide to dive headfirst into the secret world of cursecasters and spellseekers to figure out a way to break the curse. But things don’t go as planned, especially when Stephen’s grandfather arrives in town, taking his anger out on everyone he sees. In the end, Elizabeth and Stephen must decide how big of a sacrifice they’re willing to make for Stephen to become visible — because the answer could mean the difference between life and death. At least for Elizabeth. -quoted from Goodreads

I know this book doesn't come out for a few months (7 months to be exact, but who's counting ;) ), but I can't pass up featuring a book written by Andrea Cremer and David Levithan. I mean Andrea Cremer and David Levithan, need I say more?! I can not wait to read what these two masterminds have written. What book are you waiting to get your hands on?
