TMI Movie News: SIMON is CAST

For the second day in a row, TMI fans got a TMI topic to trend and today we got #WEWANTSIMON to trend #2 in the world and Cassie treated us to this awesome news:

ROBERT SHEEHAN is SIMON!!! Cassie teased us on twitter that he had awesome chemistry with Jamie and Lily, and that he wasn't American. Even Sarah Rees Brennan, Holly Black and Maureen Johnson (all close friends of Cassie's) chimed in to say they all approved. Guess what, he's not British, but this Irish cutie is sure to make TMI fans proud when he steps into the roll of SIMON LEWIS on the big screen.

Here's what Cassie about Robert:

So remember when I said we wouldn’t have a Simon till July for Reasons?
The Reasons were that the actors up for Simon had to test with Jamie and Lily in Toronto to see how the chemistry worked. When I talked to Jamie and Lily yesterday it was about who we thought was the absolute best, the most Simon-y Simon, and fortunately we all agreed.
Y’all know I am a big Misfits fan, so you should not be surprised to know that I’m ecstatic that our Simon is.

Robert Sheehan. You may know him as Nathan. :)
He’s totally cute and adorable and HILARIOUS, and his chemistry with Lily and Jamie is off the charts. I’ve wanted him for Simon for ages so I am pretty much totally and entirely happy.
Also you should all watch Misfits.
How cute is he?!!!!

What do you guys think? I'm so EXCITED over this news!

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Magical Mayhem edited by Douglas Rees & Laurie McLean

There are so many fabulous books coming out this year, and I'm thrilled to be teaming up with Pam (from Bookalicious Pam) to reveal the cover for one of them, Magical Mayhem edited by Douglas Rees & Laurie McLean. Check out this cover!!

What do you guys think? I'm loving the look and feel of this cover. If I had to judge a book by it's cover, this is a book I'd definitely pick up. Be sure to keep reading to find out more about the book and to enter to win an e-ARC of it.

About the Book:
Magical Mayhem is the first of many anthologies to come from new tween/teen publisher Ambush Books. Compiled from a wide assortment of emerging YA talent plus award-winning veteran authors, this anthology truly has something for everyone featuring short tales that will twist your brain and wrap around your soul. From the creepy jumble of Eldritch Black’s ‘Three Curses for Trixie Moon” to the gorgeous magical realism of Anna-Marie McLemore’s “Lovesick”, Magical Mayhem is the perfect bedtime companion for a cold autumn’s night.
Magical Mayhem will be available in print and eBook formats on October 1, 2012. Ten percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Electronic Freedom Foundation.

Authors in this anthology include: Douglas Rees (Vampire High), Kait Nolan (Red), Linda Wisdom (50 Ways to Hex Your Lover), Marni Bates (Awkward), Mark Williams (Danger Boy), A.R. Kahler, Eldritch Black, Carol Wolf (Summoning),Pam van Hylckama Vlieg, Cecily White (Angel Academy), Rhonda Helms (Stupid Cupid), Laurie McLean (Knight Moves), H. Scott Beazley, Anna-Marie McLemore, Catherine Haines and more.

About the publisher: Ambush Books is the brainchild of award-winning children’s book author Douglas Rees and his literary agent Laurie McLean. Often their luncheon conversations would involve tales of fabulous classic children’s books that were no longer available for purchase. What a shame! So Ambush Books represents their quest to bring these abandoned treasures out of the dark caves where they’ve been hidden away by publishers in order to share them with the tweens and teens of today. Ambush will also publish books in series that never saw the light of day as well as anthologies introducing new voices to today’s middle grade and YA audiences.

How To Cure The Brokenhearted, Stolen Bass Blues

Toby and Zack’s first gig could make or break their Beatles cover band, the Nowhere Men. But ever since getting dumped by his girlfriend, lead singer Toby can’t quite pull off the Beatles’ feel-good vibe. When Toby finds a note hidden inside his brother’s bass claiming the instrument was stolen, he embarks on a quest to find the true owner—and hopes a girl named Michelle will help him recover his lost mojo along the way. -quoted from Flux

Ed Briant’s Five Favorite Bands and Five Favorite Books from His Teen Years

I was in London when I was the same age as Toby in I Am (Not) the Walrus. The biggest bands were:

Talking Heads: There was this movie theater called the Electric Cinema  in West London where every Saturday night at midnight they showed the Talking Heads’ movie Stop Making Sense. It was total mayhem, and it was a blast. If you didn’t have a party to go to on a Saturday night you could head down to the Electric Cinema, and there was a party right there waiting for you. In fact, even if you had been invited to a party, the one at the ’Electric’ was probably better. It was an iffy neighborhood, though, so you had to watch yourself walking home afterwards.

Bob Marley and the Wailers: If you were walking home from the Electric you probably wouldn’t get more than a block without hearing a Bob Marley song blasting out of a car window.

Squeeze: Sharp and funny pop songs. Probably the most influential British band of the 1980’s.

The Smiths: I first saw them at the Hammersmith Palais, and my girlfriend made me leave because she thought they were too depressing.

The Ramones: A living, breathing cartoon of a rock band. I saw them half a dozen times, and I have the hearing-loss to prove it.

My favorite books:

Animal Farm by George Orwell. I loved animals, although I wasn’t quite so fond of them after reading Animal Farm.

Lord of the Flies by William Golding. I thought I liked children, too, after all I was at school with hundreds of them. Was this really how grown-ups saw us?

Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. How wrong can you be? I spent decades thinking I was Pip. Now I’m moving into the time of life where I probably identify more with Miss Haversham.

Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham. The world is over-run by giant man-eating plants, and if that isn’t bad enough, 90 percent of the earth’s population are blinded when the earth passes through a strange meteor shower. Possibly the first of the guy-wakes-up-in-a-hospital-and-everybody’s-disappeared genre of novel, and possibly the best.

The Lost Domain (also known as Le Grand Meaulnes), Henri Alain-Fournier’s elusive dream of the end of childhood. The author’s only complete book before being killed right at the beginning of World War One. In my opinion the pre-eminent young adult masterpiece of all time.

Series: The Iron Fey (Novellas collection)

Summer, Winter, Iron.
Together at last.

Dangerous faeries. Heartbreaking romance. Thrilling action and limitless adventure. The world of the fey has never been so powerful. This collection includes three novellas set in the world of The Iron Fey plus the expanded Guide to the Nevernever and exclusive information about Julie Kagawa's unforgettable world of Faery.

Winter's Passage

Meghan Chase used to be an ordinary girl...until she discovered that she is really a faery princess. After escaping from the clutches of the deadly Iron fey, Meghan must follow through on her promise to return to the equally dangerous Winter Court with her forbidden love, Prince Ash. But first, Meghan has one request: that they visit Puck--Meghan's best friend and servant of her father, King Oberon--who was gravely injured defending Meghan from the Iron Fey.

Yet Meghan and Ash's detour does not go unnoticed. They have caught the attention of an ancient, powerful hunter--a foe that even Ash may not be able to defeat....

Summer's Crossing

A Midsummer's Nightmare? Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon's right hand, bane of many a faery queen's existence—and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl's death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts.

Now Ash has granted one favor too many and someone's come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck's help—into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice—betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist.

Iron's Prophecy

Meghan Chase is finally getting used to being the Iron Queen, ruler of the Iron Fey. Her life may be strange, but with former Winter prince Ash by her side at last, she wouldn’t have it any other way.

But when they travel to the Summer and Winter courts’ gathering for Elysium, the oracle from Meghan’s past returns with a dire prophecy: “What you carry will either unite the courts, or it will destroy them.” Now Meghan faces a devastating choice that may determine the future of all fey—and her and Ash’s unborn child… -quoted from Goodreads

I can not wait for this book to be out! This is one of my all time favorite series, and I loved each of these novellas. I'm thrilled that Harlequin Teen has created a book that includes all three novellas. *Please note that I included each novella's cover for this post only, and added it above the correct book's synopsis.
