City of Lost Souls Trailer Teaser

Cassie posted a still from the COLS trailer, which is being produced by Dirty Robber, whom also made the Clockwork Prince trailer. I can't wait to see this trailer and read the book to find out who exactly is in this shot. I'd like to believe it's Jace and Clary stealing a moment together, but..... it could be another one of our favorite couples.

Here's what Cassie said about this still: "A still from the City of Lost Souls trailer. (If the warehouse looks at all familiar it’s because they shot parts of Inception there. Strange but true.)"

Who do you guys think is in the back ground?

Flashback Friday: Book Reviews: The Gallagher Girls Series Books 1 & 2 by Ally Carter

Flashback Friday is a meme I started last year here on the blog for the sole purpose of spotlighting books that have been sitting on my shelf to read for awhile. This will include titles released the previous year and ones that have been out for a few years. Today's feature is for a the first two books in a series that's been sitting on my bookshelf for awhile: I'd Tell You I Love, But Then I'd Have To Kill YouCross My Heart and Hope to Spy by Ally Carter

Cammie Morgan is a student at the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women, a fairly typical all-girls school-that is, if every school taught advanced martial arts in PE and the latest in chemical warfare in science, and students received extra credit for breaking CIA codes in computer class. The Gallagher Academy might claim to be a school for geniuses but it's really a school for spies. Even though Cammie is fluent in fourteen languages and capable of killing a man in seven different ways, she has no idea what to do when she meets an ordinary boy who thinks she's an ordinary girl. Sure, she can tap his phone, hack into his computer, or track him through town with the skill of a real "pavement artist"-but can she maneuver a relationship with someone who can never know the truth about her?

Cammie Morgan may be an elite spy-in-training, but in her sophomore year, she's on her most dangerous mission-falling in love -quoted from Goodreads

This is one of those series that I've had sitting on my shelves for awhile now and one I keep hearing how fabulous it is to read. Sophie's read the entire series and I loved it, and even though she kept telling me over and over again to hurry up and read it, for some reason I've waited to do just that. Which is funny considering Ally Carter is one of my favorite authors. I LOVE her Heist Society series and I can officially say this series is just as good as that one.

Cammie Morgan is such a fun character to get to know. She embodies everything I love in a well written heroine. She's smart, she's snarky, she makes mistakes, she's brave, and she's incredibly relatable. Not that I can relate to talking in 10 different languages, or being able to train for special ops and spying. That's the great thing about Ally's writing, is she makes her characters relatable, no matter what situation they're in and what they're doing. It's not just Cammie I loved, but the entire cast of characters that make up this series.

Being that this is the first book in the series, Ally does a fabulous job at introducing readers to her characters, the Gallagher Academy, the teachers, Cammie's mom and what's to come through out the series. I liked that while this is a prestigious academy, these girls are fun loving, and relatable to readers on a variety of levels. I'll be honest, I had my reservations about one of the girls, but she's proved how wrong I was about her. Being a parent, I also love the role both Cammie's mom and the teachers have in the girl's lives. I feel too many tween and YA books are written without any sort of adult involvement, and I love that this series is opposite of that.

This is a series I HIGHLY RECOMMEND picking up! It's not only a highly enjoyable read, it's clean cut, and a read the young tweens can enjoy as much as teen and adult readers.

Cammie Morgan is back, and it's clear that her life hasn't calmed down since the events of I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You. At first, giddy anticipation is in the air. Gallagher Academy, Cammie's elite spy school, is hosting a visit from a covert training center for boys. Soon after the boys' arrival, though, everything goes dangerously awry when a series of security breaches are discovered at the academy. Worse yet, teenage agent-in-training Cammie is being blamed for the penetration. With the school's top-secret status at risk, the Gallagher Girls have to work quickly to save their beloved school -quoted from Goodreads

The secrets, the spy training and the character chemistry heat up in this sequel! Let me just say it took a lot of will power for me to not just sit and read books 3 and 4 after I finished this book. There was a fabulous turn of events that I didn't even see coming in this book, and believe me, if you're a fan of Josh from book 1, you'll soon forget about him in book 2. I love the Gallagher Girls, but their competition is about to heat up with group of boys who are about to give them a run for them money.

One of my favorite things about Ally Carter's writing is her character chemistry. If you've read The Heist Society you'll know what I'm talking about with Kat and Hale. Ally creates a chemistry that is just as fabulous with Zach and Cammie. Oh Zach! I could easily make this a one word review by saying, "ZACH". Seriously, not only does he ruffle Cammie's feathers, this boy is full of snark, confidence and he's extremely observant. He also does a fabulous job at not only catching Cammie off guard, but me as well. If you've met Cammie, you know how hard it is to beat her at her own game. It's next to impossible.

Oh how I adore Cammie's inner monologue with Zach around. She had me laughing out loud more than once. One of her most memorable scenes made me laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes, and that scene would be from the masquerade ball. I think Mr Solomon knew what he was doing when he invited the boys to come study with the Gallagher girls. I can hardly wait to see what the rest of this series has in store for Cammie and Zach. Let me give you a teaser from one of my favorite scenes from the book, which I won't describe as it would be a teaser (which the line I'm going to post is not)..... Then he smiled that smile I'd come to know. "I always finish what I start."

Oh if you only knew what scene that line came from. When you read it, you'll know why I love it. Now I know what Sophie has been telling me non stop to read this series and "Wait till you meet Zach." Aside from the characters, I loved the direction this story went it. It's engaging, exciting, fast paced and kept me on my toes. Ally truly throws you into her story and leaves me wanting to read more after you're done. Though this time I'm sitting here with a stupid grin on my face, because of all the happened between Zach and Cammie. I mean that in a good way.

This is another fabulous, clean cut book I HIGHLY RECOMMEND picking up! Just be warned that you'll become addicted and will want to sit down and read the entire series back to back. Now that book 5 is out, you can easily do.
