I'm beyond thrilled to be revealing the cover for Marie Rutkoski's The Shadow Society today on Mundie Moms. I'm reading this book now, and loving it! I highly recommend adding this book to your To-Read lists. I think this book is going to be one a lot of YA readers will be talking about this fall.
Check out the fabulous cover:
I love the reflection and the city sky line below it. The other thing that makes this cover stand out for me, is it's not your typical YA book cover. This cover is a great reflection of what lies within the pages of this book.

Darcy Jones doesn’t remember anything before the day she was abandoned as a child outside a Chicago firehouse. So she isn’t surprised that she doesn’t recognize Conn, the new boy at her high school, even though he seems to know her—or at least know something about her.
What does surprise her is how quickly she comes to trust Conn, and that he makes her feel both desire and desired in a way she hadn’t thought possible. But his interest in her is confusing. It doesn’t line up with the way he first looked at her.
As if she was his enemy.
When Conn betrays Darcy and she is arrested, she realizes that she can’t rely on anything—not Conn, not herself, and not even the laws of nature. Because this world isn’t the only one. Darcy belongs in an alternate world where the Great Chicago Fire never happened, and deadly creatures called Shades terrorize the human population.
Darcy needs some answers.
And she hates that the person most able to help her get them is Conn. -quoted from the publisher

I agree..the cover is cool. At first glance it appears like a normal dreary image of somebody walking through a rainy city, but the reflection/non-reflection is trippy.

I love the reflection on the cover. It's very eye-catching!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I like how the cover is very different from other covers. Also, I like the reflection/puddle a lot.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway,
Ana
I actually really like the cover! It's gorgeous and almost eery, which fits the theme of the book. If you were abandoned but someone from your supposed past remembers you, I could think of some eery happenings! lol
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway.
It's a beautiful cover!
ReplyDeleteI think the cover is nice! I noticed how usually in a picture, the buildings are above so that it looks taller/faraway but in this cover it isn't. Instead the building's pictures are below and the image and reflection is above the buildings, as if telling us the story will be different and will leave you questioning. It's as though its telling us 'the sky is the limit'.
ReplyDeleteI think it goes great with the book! Love it!

I really like it! So pretty and blue!
