Darkest Mercy Cover is Revealed!

Melissa Marr just tweeted the cover and a brief explanation:
"This is . . . well, almost the final cover. The vines are still wrong, but the effects are in place now. I love it. Please, meet Donia (portrayed by Linda) on the cover of the final WICKED LOVELY book . . . LOVE the steam & sunlight. "

You can read Melissa's complete post on her blog. In the mean time, isn't the cover gorgeous and such a nod to Wicked Lovely?

Book Blurb-Firelight

By Sophie Jordan
Published by HarperTeen
To Be Released September 7th, 2010
5 stars- This is a must have

Marked as special, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. When she breaks the most sacred tenet of her kind, she nearly pays with her life, only to be spared by a beautiful stranger sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki- a descendant of dragons whose ability to shift into human form is her defense.

Forced to flee into the mortal world, Jacinda struggles to adapt. The one bright light is Will; Jacinda knows she should avoid him at all costs-Will and his family are hunters-but the passion he stirs within her can't be ignored., even if it means risking her life...

The heading of the back of the ARC describes Firelight perfectly, "Mythical powers and irresistible passion ignite" to make Firelight one book that I was so enraptured with, I read it in one sitting last night.

Sophie's talent for writing romance makes for some amazing chemistry between Jacinda and Will. That isn't to say there's no shortage of that with Cassian, the Dragon Prince, but Jacinda fights it. She doesn't want to be with someone who will rule over her. She yearns for her freedom and wants to be loved for who she is, and not what she can do.

I know this isn't my full review, as I'll be posting that closer to the book's release, but if I could give a book 10 stars, Firelight would be one book I'd give 10 stars to. If you're not a dragon fan,Firelight will turn you into one, as it will leaving you wanting to read more about Sophie Jordan's dragon world.

With undeniable, strong chemistry, beautiful world building, a cast full of great characters both good and bad, and an amazing dragon mythology, Firelight is one book I'll be reading over and over again. This is easily one of my top ten favorite reads of this year and I highly recommend picking it up when it releases in September.
