Desires of The Dead by Kimberly Derting

We are excited about Kimberly Derting's sequel to The Body Finder, called Desires of The Dead. Recently Kimberly posted the cover and a teaser on her blog.

Here's the teaser she posted:

Violet slipped inside without notice. She was too preoccupied to care if anyone spotted her. The gentle sound of the harps grew stronger, until the vibrations were nearly painful and Violet found herself gritting her teeth. It was compelling, this echo . . . this death. And Violet was so close.

Be sure to visit Kimberly's site here http://kimberlyderting.blogspot.com/ to find out more information! We're looking forward to finding out what's in store for Violet.

We received an Award

We have just received a very touching award from author Heather McCorkle. We've really appreciated the awards we've received before. Normally I don't post them, but we are very touched by what Heather has said about us and the award she's given us.

Here's what she says,
"On a deeper level this award is for those who go the extra mile and do something above and beyond what the regular blogger sets out to do. They don't just reach out to feel connected, they reach out to touch someone and make a difference. There are a lot of fabulous people I could award this to but I must choose just one. Therefore I'm choosing the Mundie Moms of the MundieMoms book blog. They are lovers of YA books, especially anything by Cassie Clare, but they are so much more than that. The Mundie Moms support authors like I've never seen anyone do. They go above and beyond to help promote their favorite books~which are outstanding by the way~and they support up and coming authors as well. Even more, they are always spotlighting one worthy cause or another, be it literacy, libraries, or even things such as cancer. To me this makes them more than worthy of the Beautiful Blogger award. Thank you ladies for all that you do." http://heathermccorkle.blogspot.com/

We'd love to pass this award on to three friends of ours who are and have made a difference in the world. These three friends are not only moms, wives, authors, book bloggers, etc, but they're great examples of how one person can make a difference. They've gone beyond to help support some important causes they are passionate about. They have done this on their own or with the help of others to make a real difference for others.

Myra McEntire- Who's tireless efforts, along with two other close friends of hers, went above and beyond to raise money for those in Nashville devastated by the floods.http://writingfinally.blogspot.com/

Shannon Delany - Who's love for wolves has spilled over into a fun charity we're running with her to help raise awareness for wolves and to support the sanctuaries who care for them and educate the public on them. http://tinyurl.com/2g6jxgh

Heather w/ Fire & Ice -Has mailed much needed supplies and goods to those devastated by the deadly earthquake in Chile. She's given hope to those who needed and has offered away for each of us to help support her amazing cause. http://fireandicephoto.blogspot.com/

To these three amazing friends, we give them the Beautiful Blogger Award.
Thank you so much Heather for giving this beautiful award and allowing us to share it with others.

Happy Birthday Carla!

Happy Birthday!!!! We know how much you love Jace, so we're providing you with a little bit of Jace snark. We hope you have a wonderful day! We wish we could be in London celebrating with you.

(this picture was made by Pixie)

"That's right." It was Jace. Clary saw him, at the blurred edge of her vision, as he moved toward her and put a hand on her shoulder, turning her to face him. "It's just a kiss," he said, and though his tone was harsh, his hands were inexplicably gentle. She let him turn her, looked up at him. His eyes were very dark, perhaps because it was so dim down here in the Court, perhaps because of something else. She could see her reflection in each of his dilated pupils, a tiny image of herself inside his eyes. He said, "You can close your eyes and think of England, if you like."

"I've never been to England," she said, but she shut her eyelids. She could feel the dark heaviness of her clothes, cold and itchy against her skin, and the cloying sweet air of the cave, colder yet, and the weight of Jace's hands on her shoulders, the only things that were warm. And then he kissed her.

Eclipse- Movie Review

*Spoilers below*

I know we normally post book reviews, but I really wanted to share my review of Eclipse. This is the third time that a few of us have hosted a private midnight showing for a Twilight Saga movie. Each year the movies get better and better. I'm going to be completely honest and say I was the biggest doubter for Eclipse. I didn't think the writing or the direction for the movie would be even close to as good as it was.

Eclipse was BRILLIANT! I absolutely loved it. David Slade did such an amazing job at bringing the darker side to the bad vamps to the big screen. Not only that, but Melissa did an amazing job with the writing. Yes, there's always things that don't go in order or things they take out or add to the movie, that aren't exact in the book. There were some things they changed from the book to the movie that I didn't like, but over all I think the movie was great. I think they captured everything that I had hoped for and more.

For me, the onscreen chemistry was amazing. For the first time in the Twilight movie saga, I felt I was actually seeing the characters and not just the actors acting. They all brought the characters to life. They all seemed a lot more comfortable with who they portraying. I saw Bella's struggle with being torn on her decision to be turned. Edward's jealousy is played perfectly and I loved that Jacob's anger at Bella's decision and his strong will to fight for Bella's heart was evident. One character who stole the show was Charlie. His lines were the best! The only problem I have with the actors portrayals, was Bryce Dallas Howard's as Victoria. I've never been a fan when a franchise replaces an actor after the second movie, and this time around was no different. I think Summit's biggest mistake was replacing Rachelle. Victoria wasn't the same for me.

The scenes were great. I really liked that they added scenes from The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. The flash backs for the Quileute Legends, Jasper and Rosalie were amazing. I think that was another reason why David Slade was so perfect for Eclipse. Their scenes are more graphic, and David brought them to life perfectly for the movie. The only scene I wish we got to see more of, was Bella's vision she has in the book when she and Jacob kiss, but despite that, it was good. The tent scene was brilliant. I'm so glad they kept a lot of the same dialogue between Jacob and Edward. The one liners that Edward and Charlie have through out the movie had our theater laughing out loud. The bedroom scene with Edward and Bella (no, not that type of scene), with the engagement was good. I wish they had stayed truer to the book Edward than trying to make him more worldly so to speak. They should have left in why he was so against doing you know what w/ Bella, instead of making it seem like he didn't want to hurt her. Which, that is part of it, but in the book there's so much more to it.

I'm not always a big fan when they make some drastic changes from the book to the movie, but I loved that they made Jessica valedictorian. Her speech was so perfect. Above all, I really liked seeing a lot more interaction with the Cullen Family, and the Wolves. I missed that in the other movies. I give 5 stars to Eclipse. As I said, I was a HUGE doubter, but David proved me wrong, and kudos to him for making such a wonderful movie. Over all Eclipse was awesome. As soon as it ended I wanted to watch it again.
