5 Things I Love about Paranormalcy

By Kiersten White
Published by HarperCollins
To Be Released September 21, 2010.

Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.

But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

Don't ask me why I picked just 5 things, as Paranormalcy didn't have anything I didn't like about it. I know, how can a book not having something right? The truth is, there's a been a lot of books I've read lately that I've completely fallen for, and Paranormacly is one of them.

What it is about a book that makes me love it? The fact that the story hooks me from the get go and seduces me with it's wonderful world building and great characters. It leaves me wanting more and has me thinking about it days after I've finished reading it.

Though it hasn't been days since I finished Paranormalcy (which I finished early yesterday morning), I'm fighting the urge to re-read it and I'm still thinking about it.

5 Reasons Why I Love Paranormalcy (spoiler free):
  1. Evie is a sassy, smart, decisive, strong, sarcastic, real heroine. There's at least one thing about her that I think many girls will relate too (pink boots and all).
  2. Paranormalcy has a great blend of action and paranormal romance (need I say anything else).
  3. Evie has two paranormals who will do anything they can to protect her (oh yes, she's in the middle of two sexy paranormals fighting for her heart, and one happens to be a fairy with a bad temper).
  4. I love the rich world building and memorable characters. Kiersten has most every type of paranormal character I can think of in Paranormalcy.
  5. The story captured me and wouldn't let me go until I finished the book. I laughed out loud, I sighed and I even got teary eyed (which is hard to do).
Oh bleep! has now become part of my vocabulary. Okay, that's six things, but I just wanted to add Oh bleep! to my list. lol

I'm looking forward to sharing my full review when it's closer to it's release date. In the mean time, to find out more about Paranormalcy and to pre-order it, please visit Kiersten's site here:
