Beauitiful Darkness Blog Tour!

We are very excited to be apart of the Beautiful Darkness Novel Noise Blog tour! Beautiful Darkness is one of my favorite reads for 2010! Last month we had the oppturnity to spend some time with Kami and Margie when they were in town for their Beautiful Darkness Tour, which we co-hosted at Book People and at The Twig in San Antonio. You can find our personal interview with them here http://tinyurl.com/2cad26c.

(Jennifer Dee, Kami, myself, Margie)

You can also read our transcript from our October 26th chat with Kami and Margie here http://tinyurl.com/26cajsx. During our spoiler free chat, we talked a lot about Beautiful Darkness, the new character, John Breed, and we dug a little bit deeper into the Caster world.

Here's a synpopsis of Beautiful Darkness, along with part of my 5 star review:
Ethan Wate used to think of Gatlin, the small Southern town he had always called home, as a place where nothing ever changed. Then he met mysterious newcomer Lena Duchannes, who revealed a secret world that had been hidden in plain sight all along. A Gatlin that harbored ancient secrets beneath its moss-covered oaks and cracked sidewalks. A Gatlin where a curse has marked Lena's family of powerful supernaturals for generations. A Gatlin where impossible, magical, life-altering events happen.

Sometimes life-ending.

Together they can face anything Gatlin throws at them, but after suffering a tragic loss, Lena starts to pull away, keeping secrets that test their relationship. And now that Ethan's eyes have been opened to the darker side of Gatlin, there's no going back. Haunted by strange visions only he can see, Ethan is pulled deeper into his town's tangled history and finds himself caught up in the dangerous network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, where nothing is as it seems. (quoted from Goodreads)

I absolutely loved returning to Gatlin County in Beautiful Darkness. The cover sets the perfect tone for what is revealed within it's pages. It's beautiful, haunting, twisty and I found myself a lot more emotionally invested in this wondeful sequel.

Kami & Margie have this unique talent for making me feel like I'm apart of Ethan and Lena's world. Whether that be searching the Castor tunnels, in the caves and the forest that are apart of Gatlin county, the Caster world in which Ethan is introduced to, the Gatlin Library or at their homes. No matter where the setting took me too, I felt I was there. The descriptions are so rich in detail and so vivid, that I'm completely swept up into the pages of Beautiful Darkness, more so than I was with Beautiful Creatures.

  1. I'm so excited for Kami and Margaret! Beautiful Darkness is still on my to be read pile though I keep sneaking a peak at it. And I've got to agree with you, it seems even better than the first novel! That doesn't seem possible, I know, but wow, it is good!
