Haven’t you had one of those days that just can’t seem to go your way? Lauren Barnholdt takes something as trivial as a bad day and kicks it up a notch. Eliza is a normal teenage girl with best friends, wardrobe issues, and feelings for her ex she just can’t shake. But how would you feel when those normal teenage wishes, urges, and frustrations went public? How far would you go to save the secret desires you have kept hidden from the world? What would you do to keep secrets buried that would hurt the ones you love most?

In this fun, fast paced read Lauren Barnholdt lures you in from page one and doesn’t let go until the last sentence. I felt like I was experiencing the night right alongside Eliza and her friends. My anxiety level was through the roof as Eliza completed task after task in order to get back her precious notebook. She learns more about herself as the night progresses and finds strengths she never knew she possessed.

Barnholdt does an amazing job of creating believable characters that are loveable in spite of their flaws. At the core of this novel are some pretty important life lessons. Love is not always predictable and life is not always what it seems. Would you be brave enough to take a chance and survive one night that changes everything?
